SteamWise: A New Knowledge-Sharing Platform for Smarter Steam, Safer Plants, and More Efficient Industry in Egypt

Egyptian industry is under growing pressure to do more with every unit of energy, water, time, and capital. Steam management is no longer just a technical matter inside the boiler house. It is a business issue that affects cost, product quality, uptime, safety, sustainability, and competitiveness.

That is why Diverse Supplies is launching SteamWise: a new knowledge-sharing platform created for industry in Egypt.

Built by the engineers of Diverse Supplies, SteamWise is designed to share practical insight on steam management, energy efficiency, site safety, decarbonization, and green manufacturing. It is meant to support both technical and business professionals across Egyptian industry, from plant managers and maintenance engineers to utilities teams and operations leaders.

Why SteamWise, and why now?

Energy efficiency is becoming central to how manufacturers operate and compete. In Egypt especially, that makes smarter steam management more relevant than ever.

SteamWise is Diverse Supplies’ contribution to that shift: a platform focused on making important industrial knowledge more accessible and more actionable for the Egyptian market. It is not a product catalogue in disguise. Its purpose is to help plants identify where value is being lost, which inefficiencies matter most, and where better engineering decisions can improve performance, reliability, safety, and sustainability.

The platform will cover topics such as:

  • Steam management best practices
  • Energy efficiency and loss reduction
  • Process reliability and operating performance
  • Condensate recovery and utility optimization
  • Site safety
  • Decarbonization pathways
  • Greener manufacturing and smarter resource use.

What SteamWise will include

SteamWise will take shape through a set of ongoing knowledge initiatives, including:

  • Webinar series led by experienced engineers
  • Blog posts and technical articles
  • Knowledge sessions at industry conferences and exhibitions
  • Useful tools and calculators, such as energy savings and steam loss estimators
  • Content for mixed audiences, including non-technical decision-makers who need to understand the financial and operational implications of steam-system performance.

Introducing the new SteamWise webinar series

The first major initiative under SteamWise is a new webinar series launching April 2026

Its aim is to give industrial teams in Egypt clear, practical insight into how better steam management can reduce losses, improve reliability, and support decarbonization goals.

The planned topics for 2026 reflect that mission, covering both immediate efficiency opportunities and broader system improvements.

Webinar 1: The Cost of Doing Nothing

Rust steam valve

The first webinar will focus on a challenge that cuts across sectors: the hidden cost of steam inefficiency.

The session will examine how plants can calculate the real cost of everyday losses, including:

  • The cost of 1 kg of steam under different conditions
  • Heat loss from an uninsulated valve
  • Flash steam losses
  • Leaking steam traps
  • Not returning condensate
  • Open bypass valves
  • Losses caused by manual steam control.

This matters because many plants do not suffer from one dramatic failure. They suffer from dozens of smaller, continuous losses that go unmeasured for too long. The webinar is designed to make those losses visible in operational and financial terms.

The series will be hosted by the Diverse Supplies Engineering Team, whose strengths combine practical engineering judgment, field credibility, and the ability to turn complex steam-system issues into clear, actionable insight. Our engineers will also be joined, where relevant, by seasoned experts from partner teams to bring deeper subject matter expertise to specific topics.

Supporting Diverse Supplies’ decarbonisation mission

SteamWise is closely aligned with Diverse Supplies’ broader decarbonisation agenda. It extends the company’s role from project delivery into market education, helping industry make better decisions with more confidence.

That includes supporting Diverse Supplies’ goal of saving energy worth EGP 1 billion in the next 10 years through smarter engineering, better steam management, reduced losses, improved recovery, and more efficient operations. Every kilogram of steam saved, every trap repaired, every condensate stream recovered, and every control loop improved contributes to lower operating cost, less waste, and lower carbon intensity.

A platform for the industry

At its core, SteamWise is built to be useful. It is a platform created by engineers, for industry, to help Egyptian plants run steam systems more efficiently, more safely, and with lower carbon impact. It is for the maintenance manager setting priorities, the plant manager under pressure to reduce cost, the utilities engineer building a business case, and the operations leader focused on performance.

SteamWise launches in April 2026.

It begins with a simple question every plant should ask:

“What is the real cost of doing nothing?”
